The Good, The Bad, and The Sad at Desert Sands Schools
DSUSD approves Title IX Resolution for Future Agenda; Puts Tampons in Boys Restrooms
Good news came out of the Desert Sands Unified School District (DSUSD) board meeting this past Tuesday evening. A Title IX Resolution (see Sonja Shaw--Chino Unified School District), which was requested by community members was approved as a future agenda item.
DSUSD board President Kailee Watson read about eight minutes from a prepared script that explained her reasoning for supporting the Resolution that should be sent to every school district in the Nation. Watson touched on such common sense arguments as the natural physical advantage that boys have over girls, which results in girls being pushed out and replaced by boys, the un-comfortability that girls have when forced to share locker rooms and restrooms with boys. It is well worth a few minutes of your time.

In case you couldn’t watch the video, here is the breakdown:
One board member at first denied there was a problem with boys in girls sports, that it wasn’t happening in DSUSD, but back pedaled when it was pointed out that there was a boy in the district that took a girls spot on a team. It was also pointed out that the Resolution doesn’t change policy, but would put their beliefs on record.
Trustees Duran and Alvarez seemed somewhat reluctant to support the resolution, but both cited being fathers of daughters as a reason to do so. Alvarez made note of the fact that he didn’t appreciate abrasive outsiders coming in and causing divisions, nor did he like the idea that the loudest could get their way.
Although there is no guarantee that the DSUSD will approve the Title IX Resolution in the future, not approving it at this point would be a step in the wrong direction. Hopefully, the Title IX Resolution can be a first step at excising DEI from the district.
That is the good.
The Bad and the Sad
Unfortunately, the woke mind virus reared its ugly head at the same board meeting. There was a concerted, and apparently successful, effort by Planned Parenthood activists, students from a high school “feminism in Action” club, and others, to have free feminine products placed in all girls (and one boys) at district high schools, in accordance with State Law.
During the Public Comments portion of the meeting about 20-minutes of in-person and on-line comments were read into the record urging the district to comply with the Menstrual Equity for All Act (2021), specifically to include free feminine products in all girls restrooms and in at least one boys restroom on each high school campus.
For contrast, there were two in-person comments and one online comment in support of placing the Title IX Resolution on a future agenda.
The relevant part of the 2021 California law, Menstrual Equity for All, reads:
35292.6. (a) On or before the start of the 2022–23 school year, a public school, including a school operated by a school district, county office of education, or charter school, maintaining any combination of classes from grades 6 to 12, inclusive, shall stock the school’s restrooms at all times with an adequate supply of menstrual products, available and accessible, free of cost, in all women’s restrooms and all-gender restrooms, and in at least one men’s restroom.
In person commentors were represented by two adults who accompanied a small group of high school students to the board meeting. The student speakers self-identified as representing the Feminism in Action club from one of the high schools, which according to the school’s website, exists to “…create interest in feminisms and equality,” and “…participation in equality related events.”
One of the adults self-identified as an “organizer” for Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest (PPAFPSW). The other adult identified as a volunteer for PPAFPSW and as a “Full Spectrum Doula.”
Just a quick aside. Yes, a Full Spectrum Doula is a real thing. Doulas are not medically or professionally trained but are sort-of midwives/sort-of counselors, for pregnant women…and men! Doulas counsel and assist with anything from abortion, to birthing at home without medical professionals, to gender transitioning. The “radical” Doula’s make “caring a political act.” It is all pretty nuts, but you can learn more here.

Okay, enough of that balderdash, let’s get back to it.
According to IRS records, PPAFPSW is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, but Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (PPPSW), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, serves as the “Parent Company.”
The organizations have not been hurting for cash, paying all of the top executives at PPAFPSW over $300,000 in base compensation. The CEO makes over $500,000. According to the IRS documents, the purpose of PPAFPSW is to “PROMOTE CHOICE IN REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH.”
The PPAFPSW website reveals the far-leftist Marxist influence that they seek to proselytize. From the blogs and the press releases, we can discern that PPAFPSW’s goal is to train volunteers to promote abortion, and political activism. The activism includes, but is not limited to:
· Around the Veterans Administration end to “Gender Affirming Care.”
· Believes President Trump and Elon Musk are “dismantling democracy brick by brick” by ending the fraud, waste, and abuse in the Department of Education (and throughout government).
· Supporting “Gender Affirming Care” for minors (SB 497 Wiener 2024).
· Opposing election integrity and security
· Opposing armed Resource Officers on school campuses.
· Supporting and promoting boys in girls supports.
· Supporting and promoting tampons in boy’s restrooms in schools.
· Supporting and promoting abortion.
For those in the back: Well-funded and trained far-left political activists, somehow connected with students from a district high school, to apparently help organize a concerted effort to pressure the district to put tampons in high school boys restrooms. How did that happen?
What are Districts to do?
While placing the Title IX Resolution on a future agenda is a step in the right direction, and board President Kailee Watson did a terrific job telling the facts, common sense, and the deflated feelings of girls, the Resolution does not actually change policy.
What does change policy is complaining about not having tampons in boys restrooms. You may have heard in the comments (1:00:00 mark) and during the board discussion that one high school had already complied with the activists requests, and that the district had already taken action to comply at the other high schools. There was no need for an agenda item to do so.
I hear the argument, but they have to obey the law. Okay, sensible. But also, exactly what the board said during covid about masks, the covid “vaccine”, and secretive Gender Support Plans, et.al. California has a never ending supply of laws that are more suited to the annals of the Theater of the Absurd than on any modern-day legal code but at some point, enough has to be enough.
Executive Orders have the force of law until they are reversed or declared unconstitutional. And, since Executive Orders are Federal Law, the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution should dictate which conflicting law to follow—Federal or California.
Trustee Alvarez recognized this but seemed to believe that President Trump’s Executive Orders on DEI/gender ideology would get reversed. Which is akin to saying that a super-majority of Californians, not to mentions Americans, believe that schools should put tampons in boy’s restrooms, allow boys in girls sports, and transition kids genders without parents knowledge. That doesn’t even touch on the Pharmaceutical fueled Surgical Centers which are at the end of that particular road.
That simply is not true. Despite what the media, uni-party politicians, and activists (loud ones) would have us believe, MAGA is not a faction of the Republican party, but a majority of Americans that simply have common sense and a love for freedom; Americans that want state and local governments to cease and desist over their obsession with their children’s sexuality.
While Governor Newsom and Attorney General Bonta have gone after school districts for defying their dastardly nonsense in the past (Chino, Temecula), they weren’t exactly successful. In addition, Newsome is in rebranding mode, hoping to be a POTUS someday. Add to that the fact Newsom and his band of Little Rascals gave all of California’s money to illegal aliens the past few years…would legal action still be the result of defiance?
Furthermore, the more school districts that stand up, the less likely the Communists in Sacramento will take any action beyond rants on BlueSky. Even if Newsom and Bonta do get bee in their bonnet, surely there are legal foundations that would help rebellious, common sense districts out? And those Planned Parenthood activists, how long will they last without Congressional and USAID + NGO grift?
All above my pay grade, but school districts need to be aware that silence, like compliance, is acquiescence. DEI and gender ideology cannot and will not survive in American society—not a free one anyways—and will never see the cultish following grow beyond current (and falling) numbers ever again. The people are aware now. Awareness coupled with election integrity (by 2026?) just might lead to bad political outcomes for those that try to hold onto, and enforce, Marxist ideologies.
Dear Kenny, the list goes on and on, but it's people like you who have lived through this complete madness as a devoted teacher and who is fighting with every ounce of your being to inform, not only in your own experience but writing a book about dealing with the complete ignorance and incompetence in the school, derangement with their sick Marxists/ Communist Agenda, disabling parents rights of their children, a mental disease like a masticizing cancer. Common Sense will win in the end. Thank you so much Kenny for all of your passionate efforts in pursuing good vs bad, none of this sickness will prevail.
Thanks for the update
